Synopsis and detail

In the distant future, much of the population is controlled by a totalitarian regime, which recalls that domain by performing an annual event-and deadly-among the 12 districts under his tutelage. To save her younger sister, the young Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) offers as a volunteer to represent his district in the competition and counting, with the company of Peeta Melark (Josh Hutcherson), challenging not only the dominant system, but also the strength of other opponents.
