Chris Gardner (Will Smith) is a family man who faces serious financial problems. Despite all attempts to keep the family together, Linda (Thandie Newton), his wife, decides to leave. Chris is now a single parent and need to take care of Christopher (Jaden Smith), his son only 5 years. He attempts to use his ability as a salesman to get a better job, that gives you a more worthy salary. Chris Gets a job as an intern in an important stock broker, but receives no salary for his services. Their hope is that by the end of the internship program, he is hired and so has a promising future in the company. However her financial problems cannot wait for that to happen, which causes are evicted. Chris and Christopher are sleeping in shelters, train stations, bathrooms and wherever you get a refuge at night, keeping the hope that better days will come.

In Edge City lives Stanley Ipkiss (Jim Carrey), a decent guy who works in a bank but is socially awkward and without much success with women. After one of the worst days of his life, he feels at sea the strange mask of Loki, a Scandinavian god. When Stanley puts the mask on, turns into the Mask, a being with the green face that has the courage to do things more risky and fun that Stanley fears do, including flirting with Tina Carlyle (Cameron Diaz), the beautiful and sexy singer who performs at the Coco Bongo, the disco of the moment. Doug Madsen (Tim Allen) is a dentist with an inferiority complex as big as always presents itself as a doctor. Woody Stevens (John Travolta) is a rich and charismatic Executive who seems to be a big winner, but suffers with their personal problems. Bobby Davis (Martin Lawrence) is an unemployed plumber dominated by his wife, Karen (Tichina Arnold), he decided to stay without work for a year to try, without success, to become a writer. Dudley Frank (William h. Macy) is a Bachelor who is also a computer genius, having the incredible gift of getting into embarrassing situations. Each leads his life during the week, but on weekends they get together to ride a bike. The Group decides to shake their monotonous lives with a cross-country trip, without a destination set. They can take a break from their jobs and prepare for the trip, and to initiate it don't have a clue of what is to come. Over time they begin to share secrets, until they face a biker gang called the Del Fuegos, led by Jack (Ray Liotta).

Alvin (Justin Long), Simon (Matthew Gray Gubler) and Theodore (Jesse McCartney) are world-renowned stars.
